GULFSTREAM APPOINTS JIM DEMPSEY VICE PRESIDENT OF SUSTAINING AND GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS

SAVANNAH, Ga., October 1, 2008 – Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has appointed Jim Dempsey vice president, Sustaining and Government Programs, reporting directly to Pres Henne, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test.

In this new position, Dempsey manages entry-into-service programs, leads the Reliability, Quality and Availability Action Team (RQAAT) as well as the Production Change Management Team, and supervises the execution of all government programs – from the bid and proposal phase through delivery and post-delivery activities. He also administers several research and development programs, oversees the retrofit management program at all Gulfstream sites and is responsible for Program Master Schedule development.

Dempsey joined Gulfstream in 1976 and has served in a variety of positions since then. He was director of planning, scheduling and programs; program manager of the GV entry-into-service program; team leader of the GV Service and Support Design Build Team; and director of the Savannah Service Center. He also held management positions in Field Service and Technical Operations.

Dempsey earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
